"Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country".

If twenty years ago somebody told me where I would be in my life right now, I would probably have laughed. Well I keep laughing, but from happiness. Hence, all the tiny wrinkles in the corners of my eyes...

My name is Lena, and I love my life! In the past couple of decades it has changed dramatically. I was born and raised in Russia. My family has been through many ups and downs, and my Mom is by far the most influential person in my life. She taught me (and still does) how to love, to create, to be frugal and, most importantly, how to be thankful for all the blessings I've already received.

In 2013 it will be ten years since I met my husband when we both served a church mission in Siberia. It was a miracle that we met, and I will be forever grateful for it.

And now these three boys inspire me to be better every day:

Aww, much better :)

I blog here about my multicultural family, about our dreams, laughs and trials, about yummy food and penny-pinching projects that turn our house into a home, about how to be frugal and thankful every day of your life, and everything and anything in between. If you want to know where the actual name of the blog came from, read this post.

I'm glad you stopped by today and I hope you'll be back :)

  3. Beautiful family. And a wonderful concept for a blog, living frugally and thankfully. I enjoyed reading your (short) story. Hope the hypothyroidism (you mentioned it in a recent post) is treatable; I've struggled with it too. Take care.
